Is this a good practice routine?

Not enough repitition to improve your game.

Seems like a decent plan, but I’d double even triple each routine. Four full shots isn’t going to ingrain very much. 14 putts takes 5 minutes max. If you really are dedicated to getting better you’ll need to practice a lot more and practice correctly. If your putting and swinging wrong then your just learning bad habits. Now I don’t know your time schedule, but here’s a different routine that demands more, but you’ll see better results.

10 Full shots (Per club) every day
15 chips with all of your wedges every day
50 putts from different locations every day
20 swings with a weighted trainer club every other day

You can always change the times and amounts, but if you practice this much everyday and get out 2-3 times a week to play you’ll be playing great.

However its quality not quantity, most pros practice putting an hour a day, chipping an hour a day, and all other clubs 1-2 hours, while playing 18 holes.

This may not adhere to your time schedule, but try to get a good chunk of practice in. The biggest thing is practicing correctly and putting effort into your practicing. I’d also concern yourself more with putting and chipping than anything else.

Remember to get out and use what you’ve been practicing on the course too!

sorry, but that’s probably not enough practice to get any better. Whenever I go out to practice, I hit 200 balls at the driving range, hit at least 100 chips, 100 pitches, and 200 putts (the short game shots are all from different spots of course). I also play about 3 times a week. If you want to get good, then this is about what you have to do, and it takes atleast 2-3 hours for this routine. It is worth it to me because I love golf, and want to eventually play college golf, but this might not be the right fit for you. If you’re just a guy who likes to go out there and have some fun with his pals on the weekend, then this is probably perfect for you. Whatever the case is, good luck. Tee em high, and hit it hard.

Well it all depends. I am a 12 year old 6th grade girl who made the middle school Golf team. I was the ONLY GIRL with 7 guys who were older than me.
i got there because I had dedication and potential. I took lessons… (it’s easy when your dad’s the country club golf pro!:)) Well I went out and practiced at least 4 times a week for 2-5 hours. You shouldn’t have a routine, just practice. No one can tell you how to play golf you have to find your own way. It worked for me and you are probably wwwwwaaaaayyyyyy better than me so it should work for you!

I think you should add a little more repitition if your really want to get good, and practice your short game more often

  • JaHa posted: 08 Sep at 4:53 pm

No man you definitely need more

  • cahle765 posted: 09 Sep at 8:22 am

Thats not enough. You need to hit about 100 to 200 into a net to make a difference and maby 40-50 chips and about a 100 putts. Also probably 30 chip shots 3 to 4 times a week, then about 50 swings with a waited trainer.

Not enough practice. You should do more full swings with each club, more chipping and putting ( as those are where you score in the round of golf).

  • toughnottobeacynic posted: 12 Sep at 5:11 am

That’s not even enough for a warm-up. Any good, dedicated amateur will practice 2 hours a day spending at least an hour just on chipping and putting. What you’re doing is more like an interruption.
